Emanuel E. Gottenger M.D. was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He graduated Cum Laude from High School and then obtained his Medical Degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. He ranked 12th out of a class of 236 graduates.

Dr. Gottenger came to the United States in 1995 and served as a Research Scholar at the renowned Scott Department of Urology, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He participated in the S.P.O.R.E (Special Program of Research Excellence) in Prostate Cancer performing revolutionary molecular biology research on this important disease.
He then completed two years of General Surgery Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, the Manhattan campus for Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a Urology Residency at the same Institution. During his residency
Dr. Gottenger was awarded twice with the Pfizer Scholars in Urology award, an award given only to outstanding urology residents during training. Dr.Gottenger

| enhanced his General Urology training with a one-year Fellowship in Urologic Oncology / Laparoscopy in a joint program from the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach and The University of Miami School of Medicine. |

After completing his fellowship, Dr. Gottenger remained on staff at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach where he was the Physician in Charge of Laparoscopic Urology. He started a urologic laparoscopic program at that institution and performed some of the first laparoscopic nephrectomies, nephro-ureterectomies and prostatectomies in Palm Beach County (removal of cancerous kidneys and prostates using a laparoscopic technique). Dr. Gottenger was also one of the first physicians to perform Trans-urethral Laser Vaporization of the Prostate (Green Laser) in South Florida.

Dr. Gottenger has authored numerous journal articles, textbook chapters, and presented his work at the American Urological Association annual meeting. He has lectured on a variety of topics of interest in urology to physicians, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists, including treatment of the prostate, impotence and the overactive bladder.
He is fluent in Spanish and also speaks Hebrew and German.
He currently is on the medical staff of Delray Medical Center, Boca Community Hospital, and Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
